Player Mentor

Organisation Description

The Modified Rugby Program (MRP) brings families and communities together who, traditionally, would not have the chance to participate in team sport. Participation in sporting clubs allows families with disability to be included in the normal experiences that are accessible to everyone else. GingerCloud Foundation’s uses sport to engage people with Autism and other learning or perceptual disability with their broader community.

Role Description

PlayerMentors are disability inclusion leaders of the future. As a PlayerMentor your role is to help your MRP player learn rugby and social skills during training and on game days. All PlayerMentors are supported by specifically trained Team Coaches and Allied Health Professionals.

  • No rugby experience necessary
  • MPR season runs from March to June
  • 2 hour commitment per week
  • 2 hours of Online Leadership training about disability and inclusive practices to be completed at their own pace.
